Is Happiness a Proviso for Existence?
One of the prime rip-offs of the last few centuries is the pursuit of happiness.
Short, chubby fingers reached toward the frozen treat. Delight danced in her eyes as she grasped the cone.
The first lick was happiness. Ice cream melted, dribbling down her hand under the sweltering sun. She didn’t care.
An uneven bit of cobble impeded her progress. She wobbled, and her scoop of happiness crashed to the stones below her feet.
Her lip trembled, the tears flowed. She looked at her dad with a sadness that prompted a quick “It’s okay honey I’ll buy you another one.”
The world was right again, once she had her replacement scoop of happy.
Is constant happiness the true purpose of life?
No, it’s not.
